Ayaz Ismail | Week 9 | Serial Slice

Design can be very complex in terms of shape, color, size, and concept. The reason I added concept to that list is because of its perplexity in processing. The design I approached in this project was more of concept related than architectural element. I wanted to build my structure using a pyramid shape, but keeping in mind that the equation of the structure will be designed around its width and length. The concept was to construct a free form model for interior homescapes.

I started with a solid object, created few layers, contoured the model, and used the extrude curve command to represent vertical and horizontal solids. The initial process was followed from the tutorial videos by Professor Scott.

The concept was to have this model in a interior space. We often see showpieces at museums, exhibitions, houses, and etc. They are complex in terms of design. Those showpieces are complemented within the interior space. It illuminates the exterior design complementing the art of the structure. I used wood material and brown color for this model. Wood material was my only choice as it complemented the interior space concept.
