Austin Bower - Flashlight Sleeve

The design of my flashlight sleeve is very loosely based on the design of a light saber but only in the heart of the design, otherwise it was the design did not have much to do with a light saber. For the grip, I was going for it to be comfortable to hold. And the nozzle on to was designed so that the light could glow through it but only in curtain place to give it a kind of lantern look.

I made this model in Rhino. I used a variety of simple curved to make the outside and a single wave curve to make the handgrip. I inserted a rectangle on the inside to make the inner part thinner without thinning the overall size of the model, and thinness was to the light could cause it to glow. Once I had all the curves in place so I could cut it I use a Curve Boolean to creature the main shape outline and revolved it to make the cylinder shape. The outside designs were made from using polar arrays on rectangles, spheres, and cylinders. One round I used cylinders to cut out the shapes and then moved them up to still use the shapes.
