The model I decided to work on was my interpretation of a king piece, based on the mythological tree nymph, spriggan, or miscellaneous tree spirit.
As a king, I tried to make the branches/antlers on its head make a shape similar to a crown. Since a king can't move much, I sculpted its feet so it looked partially rooted to the ground, to make it seem slow moving or even partially immobile. I'm not sure I'm happy with the face, but I think it works enough for such a small sized figure as a chess piece.
3D turnaround made in zBrush.
Shapeways Information
Potential print issues are wall thickness issues in some of the pointy bits.
Very likely negligible for the purpose of the print.
