Tanner Mortenson, Project 3 – Slots "Chicago Style"

For our 3rd Project, we had to design a set of stencils to be laser cut, and arranged into a composition.
As a long-time Chicago Bulls fan (and lover of basketball), I decided to go a Chicago-style route and create my composition focused around the best player to ever play the game, Michael Jordan.

I started by creating 3 pieces to be stenciled- a Chicago Bulls logo, with the number 23 inside; the Jordan "Jumpman" logo, as well as the Larry O'Brien NBA Finals trophy, with the number 6 cutout- to signify the 6 championships won with the Bulls.

Next, the pieces were laser cut onto a sheet of cardboard.

I decided to assemble the piece with a symmetrical, circular flow, to accent the individual pieces.
At the center, I wanted to continue to emphasize the Chicago Bulls' presence.
Finally. I used some excess numbers from the cut-out process and added 2's + 3's to his hands, as well as a 6 to each trophy.
