Austin Bower - Free Form Model

I really like to make models robots. So, I want to recreate the robot hand from the Terminator, but with a scale down because of the size limitations of the printer and for that same reason I made the model simpler to lessen the need for support material and less room for error on the printers part.
And I want to make something cool to have on my desk.
For this model, I decided to make it in Maya and then import it into Rhino. Most of the model was made using cylinders and manipulating the points and faces of those cylinders to get the right angles and detail need. When I got the first finger in place I parented the joints and the main parts of the finger together so that I could turn the joints and everything above that joint would turn with the correct motion similar to a real finger. Then I duplicated the finger to make the three other fingers and the thumb, after that I add the support joints to the four fingers.
