Emily Pich Midterms: Laser Cuts

Taking inspiration from Celtic cross and knot designs, I decided to go for a very floral design, with a mixture of leaves and vines of varying sizes and designs, topped off with flower buds. I'm not sure how the assembled piece will look in the end, but I'm hoping for something both chaotic and elegant at the same time.

There was some issues with its printing, specifically the slots being too thin for the material. Additionally by choosing cardboard, the pointy ends of some of the cuts were very structurally unstable and prone to bending and kinking. However, I was able to make a design that I find appealing, with the largest designs forming a terrace like object and the smaller sized vines forming protrusions that look like roses.
