Blake Kostroun Pepakura

This piece came from the idea of how an artifact or ancient relic could be put on display, I evolved this idea into a more abstract piece and pushed the encasing of the center item to evoke a swirling motion.

I modeled the geometry in Blender and took it into the Pepakura program to unwrap. I used my knowledge of unwrapping 3D models for texturing and to become game ready assets and applied the same principles to this piece. The process went fairly quickly, knowing where I should create seams for optimal/ease of folding.

I used basic cardboard material, when putting together the piece I found cardboard sturdy and easy to bend with the perforated lines.
