Artistic Intent:
I let this piece create itself, I originally failed on two other attempts using ZBrush models for this project so I ended up designing a shape that would revolve so I could have symmetrical radial curves. I referenced Chihuli's sculptures organic designs and symmetry. Also, the wood chips that I used for the slots project are also in this one because I had to solve a slot width problem that came from the demo vid.
Techniques Used:
After the failed attempts I was beginning to get frustrated, when the planar surface split this revolved nurbs surface into about ten faces per slice I decided to just take one of the slices, lay it out and hand trace it to make the cut sheet.
