Hadi Zadeh - Assignment 8 Waffles

I was looking for a cool 3D model for this project and then I remembered that I always liked the Torus Knot model in 3dsMax. It's a mathematical model and it has been used for some logos and marks.

I simply created the model in 3dsMax and then imported it to rhino. One challenge that I had with this model was with the curves generated by contour command. I had to make sure all curves are in good place and are not too close to the edges of the models, cause I thought it could make some problems later in the final stage which is laser cutting.

I found some good spots on the campus and made a few HDR images using my cellphone app and the online service at www.image.online-convert.com/convert-hdr-exr. Then I imported the models and the HDR images to keyshot and used the HDR images for reflections and refractions. I used one wood material and one glass/metal material for this model.
