Deanna Flores: Render Passes

Concept: The model used is inspired by a mushroom structures and geometric architecture.  One version of the has a glass appearance and the other version has a more slime-like appearance based on the inspiration for the model I chose materials that would accentuate the model characteristics.

Procedure: Both images use the same amount and types of passes such as diffuse, ambient occlusion, specular, reflection, shadow, and beauty. The first image, the one that is slime-like, balances specularity and diffusion to have a well dispersed amount of shininess and keeps reflections down to a minimum. The second image, with the glassy material, used reflections and the transparency of other layers to make the material glassy while also using high specularity.

Materials: From Keyshot a liquid, translucent orange juice, and a glass material were used. Passes were separately made by changing the material settings. The environment that were used in the pass reflections was Los Angeles midday and background images that influenced color was space for the first image and the sea floor influenced the second image.
