The basic shape came from the website Visual Index Paper Models of Polyhedra, where I chose to download and build the truncated cuboctahedron.
Techniques
After downloading the file I opened it in Illustrator to enlarge it and format the lines and layers for laser cutting. I then played around with adding various shapes and patterns to be cut out of the faces of the model. Once I finished, I exported it into Rhino to check my lines and finish formatting for laser cutting before sending the file to the Machine Shop.

Materials
The shape was cut out of a sheet of E-Flute cardboard before being folded and glued together.
