This is my unit form and as you can see I was able to make 4 different pieces from it.
Here is my laser cutting sheet I reformatted it to be 24"x 24" and then did a new array to insure enough pieces would fit.
My inspiration for this was of armor pieces. I more so intended this to be like armored legs on a spider or some kind of walker. They also kinda feel like shields but the spiky ends make them also seem good for combat.
Techniques used where pretty much just creating rectangles and circles and then I used the curve Boolean tool which was really helpful and then of course the array tool to lay them all out.
