Chris Jordan: Project 5 Waffles

For this project I wanted to thing about _ so what better way to explore this concept than by leveraging the sharpness of the waffle slices with the softness of a teddy bear. Now this idea is nothing new the concept of killer bears was featured in pop art and the naughty bears video game; however, the physical softness of the bear has been maintained, what if it wasn't?

I used a number of rhino nurb spheres and ellipses to model the bear thus with a few tugs and pushes on the nurb control points and strategic placements we have a bear.

Ha Tedibea or "bladed teddy bear" in romanji further capitalizes on the thinness of the working material and the entire blade motif by using steel and titanium materials, materials used in blades, in the renderings of the waffled object.
To provide atmospherics to this render, a backplate image of a hallway in UTD, a machete mesh (in black carbide material) and a blood pool (in paint gloss red material) was added to the image.
