My mouse employs an alien theme. The body is green to mimic basic alien skin. The eyes glow red for a more menacing feel. And the scroll wheel can also double as a device with mind reading powers.
The body of the mouse started out as a cylinder with an
ellipsoid stacked on top. They were then merged together into one shape and
scaled in 2-D to give it an oval shape. The bend tool was used next to give it
a curve and a Boolean difference was used to give it its concavity. The eyes
were created with the point curve tool and then extruded just enough to clear
the surface of the mouse for buttons. Filleting the edges on the buttons made
them look more polished. Finally the scroll wheel is a simple torus aligned in
the middle.
For materials the entire mouse is made of plastic with the
exception of the scroll wheel. However the buttons are of a clear plastic that
is lit up from underneath so they look angry.
