With the castle, I wanted to create a fusion of futuristic and old architecture.
I drew influence from old Aztec temple-like for the base, as well as the Greek Parthenon
for the top piece. The sphere at the top resembles the sun similar to old cultures
that worshiped the sun while I drew influences from the Eye of Sauron from
the Lord of the Rings series. I wanted the sphere to be like an artificial sun that provides
light to the lands around it. The rings contain energy and while I did not draw influence from
anything specific, I have seen them in a lot of shows/games that take place in the future.
I am new to Rhino, so I do not have extensive knowledge about how to use the program.
I mainly used the methods taught in the tutorials including polar array for the spokes
around the sphere and the join tools to join different shapes of objects together.
I used a red gemstone material for the sphere and a yellow color for the rings around for it as I
wanted it to represent the sun. I used Stone materials for the base and the structure to go along
with the old historic castle theme. The pillars around were made gold, because those ancient
civilizations especially the Aztecs were famous for their gold.
