Thomas Perugini: Week 1 Castle

My castle drew inspiration from more simplistic castles from video games, such as Besiege and Clash of Clans. The height and width proportions are reminiscent of Cinderella's castle in Disney World and the Foster House from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

I was going for a smooth and simplistic aesthetic. This allows the camera to be farther away while not detracting from the overall design.

The granite cliff base was made first out of truncated pentagonal prisms. The bridge and center of the castle were constructed out of varying dimensions of cubes and rectangular prisms, while the turrets used cylinders. The roofs used more truncated prisms, and the wooden beams were sheared prisms. The flag is a morphed rectangular prism to look like it is waving. The buttresses in the back are also truncated prisms. All of the windows were holes cute from a square curve.

The majority of the castle uses a brick material that is scaled to removed the texture. The roofs are a red matte paint, and the flag a red velvet. Wooden beams are made of black walnut, and the base is black marble.
